You will almost certainly have heard the notion that your favourite colour reflects your personality. Some agree with this theory, while others find it preposterous – we at Roman Blinds Direct personally love the notion that our personalities can be reflected in our homes.

If there is a link between personality and colour, then here’s what your decorating taste says about you…

Red

A striking colour to say the least, red is the colour of passion; although it is not technically the most noticeable colour in the spectrum, it is the definition of a powerful visual. Why else is it used to halt traffic at the lights?

If you decorate in red, chances are you are an extrovert. This signifies a stimulating personality, as well as energy, confidence and ambition. On the other side of the spectrum, red is also a symbol of aggression, anger and competitiveness.

If you are looking for a colour that says decisiveness, passion and masculinity, red is the correct way to go.

Blue

Ironically, blue is the colour to describe a conservative person. If you favour a blue motif in your home, you are generally caring, rational and trustworthy. Taking chances is not in your nature and you always think things through incredibly carefully before making a decision. Some can see this as dull, you see this as common sense – one of the strongest traits of your character.

Blue is intellectual, and probably thanks to being the colour for both sea and sky, it is very closely associated with tranquility. The negative connotations of blue include coldness, aloofness, and a lack of emotion, but the good most definitely outweighs the bad with this colour.

The negative connotations of green? Ever heard the phrase ‘green with envy’? Purple
