Prestigious Jack Regent

Although the hype on 21 October 2015 may go down in the history books as the day that Marty McFly time traveled from 1985 to 30 years later (how are those hoverboards coming along?), there is, nonetheless less, another, more significant anniversary on this date, too.

Sci-fi comedy aside, 21 October also marks the 210th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar, one of the most significant naval battles in history. It was this battle which saw one of Britain’s most respected and iconic naval figures, Admiral Horatio Nelson, shot down in the line of duty, while stood on the quarterdeck of his ship, HMS Victory.

Despite losing an eye and an arm in previous battles, Admiral Nelson seldom lost the day, and although he lost his life fighting the French in Trafalgar Bay, he still ensured an English victory. “England expects that every man will do his duty” – the famous signal that was sent by Nelson on that fateful day.

It is this message that has got us at Roman Blinds Direct feeling incredibly patriotic. That’s why, on this anniversary, we are proud to showcase our Prestigious Jack Regent. The perfect roman blind for showing off your patriotism in an elegant and tasteful way.
