We at Roman Blinds Direct love our spicy food; it wasn’t very long ago since we celebrated a staff member’s 21st birthday at the local Indian restaurant.

In fact, spice seems to be a universal love of the British – just how many takeaways and restaurants does one walk past every single day without even realising?  There’s no denying that a hint of spice can go a long way towards making a meal a lot more interesting; a far cry from the bland meals this country was forced to live on during World War Two. When curry and the like was first introduced to this country, it must have been a revelation like no other.

This week, the BBC News revealed in an article that people who regularly ate spicy food, chiefly chillies, had a 10% lower mortality rate than people who preferred to eat food with less of a kick to it. It has shown that people who ate more fresh chilli had less chance of dying from coronary heart disease, cancer and diabetes.

This wonderful news sent us at Roman Blinds Direct racing to our website to take a look at our red roman blinds. Chilli may lower your mortality rate, but it also livens up your decor, which is why we strongly suggest heading over to our site to check out the niche number of Chilli fabrics – any one of which is guaranteed to add some five alarm style to your home.

Have you already added a dash of chilli to your decor? Let us know in the comments, or better yet, why not send us a picture on Facebook or Twitter?
