Darth Vader Blind

We’re a blinds company based in Yorkshire, and we got an unexpected surprise when we offered a huge number of young people their first step on the employment ladder.

Interior Goods Direct has taken on more young apprentices than any other business in the area, as well as welcoming a large number of youngsters from a local school on work experience.

We offered several the chance to design new blinds for two of our websites; Roman Blinds Direct and Roller Blinds Direct, but we weren’t prepared for the results!

“I’ll admit that I was expecting something more traditional.” said Mark Small, our Managing Director. “We have thousands of materials and designs to take inspiration from, so I was expecting to see something like those, but the brief was to create designs that they could envisage in their own homes… so I guess they went and did just that!”

“To be honest, I had to have some of the designs explained to me. There looks to be a lot of inspiration taken from memes, films and games. And I’ve been told that I’m not ‘with it’ enough to really appreciate them.”

“The real question now is do we actually produce these blinds for sale? Does anyone want a picture of Darth Vader looming over them from the window? Or a Minecraft or Skyrim inspired blind?”

“I know there’s at least some interest – from a few people in our offices who won’t leave me alone about these blinds! They want them for their own homes.”

So, would you want any of these designs in your home? Should we go ahead and manufacture them for sale?
