Take It Tribal!

TRIBAL

A perfect mix of modern and rustic, the Tribal trend is very much the ‘in’ thing for this season. Tribal is your chance to achieve a fantastic equilibrium between refinement and primal, incorporating an eclectic range of textures to create a soothing yet vibrant decor.

For this trend, we have decided to focus our room inspiration on achieving a Tribal ambience in your bathroom. Bathrooms are the ideal room to fashion this motif; often sparse spaces where you go to unwind and relax, Tribal will create a natural haven of tranquillity for you as you take a long, relaxing soak.

This trend uses a combination of modern and classic details. Wood plays an integral part within this theme, adding a rural and warm aesthetic which is essential in achieving a truly Tribal ambience. James Chapman, Director of Bella Bathrooms, states: “Adopting raw materials into our bathrooms has become increasingly popular as we all try to make our bathrooms into a space of relaxation. Wood provides us with a sense of well-being and allows us to feel grounded. This trend is commonly found in luxurious spas, but creating our own space that gives us a break away from the demanding world around us has meant we are all becoming more inclined to adopt materials that make us feel calm.”

TRIBAL-BATHROOM

The wood you incorporate should have maintained its natural colour. If you can combine chrome and wood together, such as purchasing a mirror in a natural dark wood frame, this would be the ideal fusion of modern and classic.

Naturally, your roman blinds should feature a Tribal-themed print that evokes a primal spirit, connecting you with nature. Of course, it should also be in the best possible taste, which is why our interior designers would draw your attention to Clarke and Clarke’s beautiful Fougeres Noir; featuring a striking print that resounds around the entire room, this patterned roman blind is the epitome of rural elegance.

White should be your base colour, providing a clean and minimalist sheen within your bathroom. White subway tiles should adorn your walls, giving a modern hint of industrialism that is a necessary inclusion within a Tribal decor, accentuating the contemporary side of the motif.

Soft shades of blue and green can be included as accent colours, preventing the room from looking washed out and bland. These colours can be injected through simple accessories like bathmats and towels, giving you scope to change them as often as you like to ensure you never get bored of your accent colours.

Rattan accessories, such as wicker laundry baskets and storage boxes to keep your towels and bathing products in, will lend a folky vibe to the room and help to accentuate the tribal motif.

A vintage bath in a chic shade of white, placed in the middle of the room, makes for an eye-catching focal point in your bathroom; it will be the first thing your eyes are drawn to when you enter the room, allowing you to slowly broaden your sightline to take in the elegance of the rest of the space.
