Tickled Pink, this February

Last month, we proudly professed that we had the January Blues. We took that opportunity to educate you on the wonderful benefits of adding blue to your interior; that being said, January has finally come to an end, and we have turned our attention to a much more universally optimistic colour for February.

Yes, this month sees us absolutely tickled pink – a stark contrast to last month, wouldn’t you say? We’ve literally gone from one end of the spectrum to the other with this one, but as our fabric experts have pointed out on our Inspiration page, pinks are ‘in’, this season.

Pink is the perfect colour for expressing some femininity within your decor. This needn’t mean you have to purchase a bold Fuchsia or Magenta to make a statement with pink, softer shades such as Amethyst or Rose are equally stylish ways of allowing pink to permeate your home in a more subtle and gentle way.

Although pink is commonly associated with femininity, while blue is for the boys, there was a time when it was the exact opposite. An article published in 1918 stated: “The generally accepted rule is pink for the boys, and blue for the girls. The reason is that pink, being a more decided and stronger color, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl.” Surely, this means that pink does, in fact, transgress any and all gender stereotypes.

A warm colour, pink is ideal for any decor in need of some personality and friendliness injecting into it. This is the perfect colour for creating an atmosphere of peace and tranquility in any room in the home, and our vast range of shades in both pink curtains and pink roman blinds means we can suit any style.

Why not order some matching made to measure pink cushions to beautifully complement your new window furnishing? We are able to create cushions from the exact same fabric used to make our roman blinds and curtains, guaranteeing an exact match.
