Iced Coffee

Welcome to the final edition of our 2016 Spring Colour Report. We’ve covered quite a kaleidoscope of colour over the past few months, and it seems like only yesterday we were introducing you to Rose Quartz; nonetheless, we are finishing this series with one of our favourite tones in this year’s colour palette, and we can’t wait to furnish you with some fantastic room design ideas.

We are concluding our Colour Report with an anything-but-boring base colour: Iced Coffee. Base colours get something of a bad reputation when it comes to room inspiration for being the dull colour in the paint pot, only there to enhance the bolder shades in your room – we disagree with this theory, especially with such a beguiling shade of brown as this. Iced Coffee is a star of the show in its own right, and, to us, the wide-ranging colours you can mix and match with it only elevate its beauty to an even higher plane.

Iced Coffee is an edgy, modern addition to any home, creating a contemporary and cool look, especially when paired with pastel shades. This is the perfect focal colour for a rustic decor; the ground coffee tone is ideal for getting your home back to nature, and when combined with other colours in this year’s palette, there is no stopping it.

We recommend a beautiful blend of both of Pantone’s Colours of 2016, Rose Quartz and Serenity; these gorgeous pastel shades magnify the softness of Iced Coffee and lend a dash of femininity. Sky blue walls in Serenity give an airy and weightless feel, literally making the sky the limit as to what you can achieve as far as room inspiration goes.

Similarly, Rose Quartz will inject a radiant beauty, especially when used as subtle overtones like elegant pastel pink cushions. Prestigious Textiles Panama Pink is a fabulous accompaniment to Iced Coffee, contrasting but not clashing with the earthy brown.

Brass floor lamps in Rose Gold coordinate with both Rose Quartz and Iced Coffee, adding a vintage dimension to this contemporary decor. Brass trinkets such as ornaments and clocks will also subtly highlight the vintage element, and floorboards rather than carpet will complement the rustic tone. A rug in Rose Quartz or Lilac Grey will juxtapose with the floorboards to fashion an intriguing ambience, right down to the floor.

Natural wooden furniture will bring out yet more earthy tones, as will wooden ornaments like clogs and sculptures to adorn windowsills and other surfaces.

Iced Coffee coloured roman blinds are the ideal way to complete this interior. A patterned fabric will create diversity; our designer Clarke & Clarke Ananas Noir roman blind is a vibrant and tropical twist on the rest of this natural, rustic motif. More cushions in another designer fabric, Iliv Paradiso Fuchsia, will further enhance the tropical vibes, while also adding a serious splash of colour.
