Fiesta

It’s party time in our 2016 Colour Report; this week, serene is giving way to spice with Pantone’s Fiesta Red, which is bringing the fire to your room decorating ideas.

There probably isn’t a starker contrast to the rest of the palette than this fierce and fiery shade of red; it ignites a serious spark into any decor, creating a high-energy atmosphere of excitement and vitality. This shade requires the bolder tones of spring to be brought out, such as Buttercup and Snorkel Blue, and we are going to show you how to incorporate all these colours to style a fun and experimental motif.

Fiesta is the ideal colour for open-minded experimentation in the world of room inspiration – there are no rules. With this in mind, we encourage you to be as creative as you like with the colours you mix and match, although we do recommend tones that can stand up to the feistiness of Fiesta Red, which is not a colour for the faint hearted.

Fiesta roomset

Buttercup is an obvious accompaniment to Fiesta. This summery shade of yellow injects an optimism and childlike charm into a room that cannot be rivalled by any other colour, and when complemented by Fiesta, it evokes a free spirited energy within your decor like no other.

Golden accessories like table lamps and vases will lend an air of glamour and also be a wonderfully stylish partner to Buttercup’s golden tone.

Deep shades like Snorkel Blue help to add substance to the room, giving a watery contrast to the Fiesta fire.

Iced Coffee is a brilliant base colour for this theme, coordinating beautifully in the background, it only fans the fashion flames.

Red and white is a timeless combination, and our style experts recommend subtle inclusions of white, such as white window panes, borders and, perhaps, white floorboards. A rug or carpet in Iced Coffee will also help to ground the room.

As for the roman blinds, Prestigious Regency Cardinal is an appropriately regal and exciting shade of red, while the tropical tones of Clarke and Clarke’s Ariadne’s Dream works beautifully well as a set of cushions in the room. This fruity combination adds a sumptuously quirky elegance to the theme.
