AW17 Trend Focus: Midnight Garden

Fri 20 Oct 2017 Amy Kilvington

Our Midnight Garden collections takes inspiration from country gardens at night, whilst maintaining a sophisticated and classical edge. Elegant florals in deep tones are combined with subtle nods and abstract interpretations, making for a collection that’s sure to appeal to every taste.

Florals are a timeless trend, but this season, it’s time to turn attention to bewitching blooms. Forget about dainty ditsy prints and girlish flourishes. Instead, look towards fabrics that offer a grown-up elegance and drama, with strong colour combinations and attention to detail. Mix these with traditional stripes and checks for a warm, homely feel, perfect for the autumn and winter seasons.

     Living room in full bloom

No matter the size or style of your living room, it’s sure to benefit from a botanical blitz this season. The easiest way to introduce the Midnight Garden trend into this space is with soft furnishings. Style up your sofa and armchair with an assortment of cushions, and update your window dressings with fresh curtains or Roman blinds. Selecting fabrics that feature your favoured flowers is a super quick update, and you can take this a step further by getting your larger pieces of furniture fully upholstered, or investing in a statement foot stool. You can also continue to channel the floral feeling by adding fresh flowers. Look for autumnal bouquets that will tie in with the rest of your decor and create a seasonal ambience.
